Well, I finally had the operation on my left foot February 07…and have pretty much been in bed ever since. Cabin fever set in in the first few hours, but I’m surrounded by books to read and DVDs to watch (and wonderful care from my wife ‘Nurse Bebe’) so I really can’t complain. It’s frustrating not being able to go to auditions, but that’s the way it is right now.
I’m working on getting a new play produced by very talented Canadian writer Leslie Mildiner. The main character is the silent movie star Louise Brooks and although the play deals with some of her history, it is really a study on aging (not-so) gracefully.
I’ve just started doing research on Louise Brooks by watching the great Criterion DVD release of one of her most famous films PANDORA’S BOX made in 1929. Also on the DVD is a Louise Brooks documentary entitled LOOKING FOR LULU. All fascinating stuff. I look forward to being part of bringing this show to Los Angeles sometime later in 2007.
More later…
